LEO (July 23 – August 22): One of the inspirational experiments I hope you will try in the coming months is to work on loving another person as fiercely, deeply, and wisely as you love yourself. By encouraging you to try this exercise, I’m not implying that I have a problem with you loving yourself wildly, deeply, and intelligently. I support your efforts to keep increasing the intensity and resourcefulness with which you love and care for yourself. But here’s a secret: Learning to summon a monumental passion for another soul can have the magical power to amplify your love for yourself.
VIRGO (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22): Musician Viv Albertine has recorded four albums and played guitar for the Slits, a famous punk band. She has also written two books and has been a television director for 20 years. Your achievements are impressive. However, she also admits that she spent a lot of time in bed for many reasons: needing to rest, taking refuge in contemplation and meditation, recovering from an illness, feeling overwhelmed or lonely or sad. She cites admiringly other creative people who have worked in her beds like her: Emily Dickinson, Patti Smith, Edith Sitwell and Frida Kahlo. I mention this, Virgo, because the coming days will be an excellent time for you to seek refuge, healing, and creativity in bed.
LIBRA (23 Sept – 22 Oct): Libra author Katherine Mansfield wrote: “The mind I love must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark plums fall in the heavy grass, an overgrown grove, the possibility of a snake or two, and a pond whose depth no one has fathomed.” In the coming weeks, draw inspiration from her, Libra. I suspect you’ll thrive when you allow yourself the luxury of exploring your untamed side. The time has come to wander the great outdoors and communicating with exciting influences outside of your comfort zone What uncharted frontier would you like to visit?
SCORPIO (Oct 23 – Nov 21): When you’re at your best, Scorpios crave only the finest highs of the highest quality. You embrace joys and pleasures that evoke epiphanies and revitalizing transformations. You don’t care about mediocre types of fun. They avoid debilitating indulgences that provide short-term excitement but create long-term problems. In the coming weeks, dear Scorpio, I hope you will embody these descriptions. It is crucial that you seek satisfactions and joys that will uplift you, ennoble you, and bless your future.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 – Dec 21): “Make a wish for everything,” advises Sagittarius author Francesca Lia Block. “Pink cars are good, especially old ones. And first stars and shooting stars. Airplanes are enough when they are first light in the sky and look like stars. Wishes in tunnels, hold your breath and lift your feet off the ground. Birthday candles. Milk teeth. “Your homework for the next two weeks, Sagittarius, is to make a list of other wonders you’ll wish for. It’s Magic Wish season for you: a time when you’re more likely to than otherwise encounter and produce miracles Be proactive Oh yes, and most importantly: What are your three greatest wishes?
CAPRICORN (Dec 22 – Jan 19): Author Aldous Huxley wrote, “That people do not learn much from the lessons of history is the most important lesson history has to teach.” While his observation is true most of the time, I don’t think that will be the case for you in the coming weeks. I suspect you will triumph over past patterns that have repeated and repeated. You will study your life story and find out what you need to do to finally complete the lessons you have learned.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18): In the film I Origins, a scientist says to a lover: “When the big bang happened, all the atoms in the universe were smashed into a small point that exploded outward. So my atoms and your atoms were together then…my atoms have always known your atoms.” What sounds poetic is literally true: the atoms that make up you and I and everyone else were originally all in close proximity squeezed together. We knew each other intimately! The coming days will be an excellent time to celebrate your fundamental connection with the rest of the universe. You will be particularly receptive to feeling connected. You will be particularly adept at channeling your energy with Bringing others together You will love the feeling of being united, fused, fused.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20): My Pisces friend Luna sent me a message summing up how I feel about you these days. I repeat it here in the hope that it will inspire you to be fully yourself. Luna said: “Every time I meet someone who was born less than two weeks before my birthday, I have the impression that they are the craziest and wisest person I have met in a long time. They are absolutely ridiculous and worthy of their deep respect. They are unhinged and brilliantly focused. They are tousled dreamers who couldn’t possibly ever accomplish anything practical, and they are lyrical thinkers who charm me with their attunement to the beauty of the world and impress me with their understanding of how the world works. Hahahahaha. Luckily I know the fool is holy.”
ARIES (March 21 – April 19): Tips to get the most out of the coming weeks: 1. Exercise your willpower in random moments just to keep it limber. 2. Be adept at fulfilling your own hype. 3. Argue for fun. Be playful and playful while joking. Disagree for fun without feeling like you’re right or need the last word. 4. Unable to understand how someone can resist you or not find you alluring. 5. Declare yourself President of Everything and then stage a coup d’état. 6. Smile often when you don’t have a reason to. 7. If you encounter a “square pin, round hole” situation, change the shape of the hole.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): IIf I had to choose a mythical deity as your symbolic attendant, I would choose Venus. The planet Venus rules your sign, and the goddess Venus is the knower of beauty and love, which are the keys to your happiness. But I would also assign you Taurus to Hephaestus. He was the Greek god of metalsmiths. He created the lightning bolts of Zeus, the winged helm of Hermes, the magical bra of Aphrodite, the armor of Achilles, the bow and arrows of Eros, and the thrones for all the gods in Olympus. The things he made were elegant and useful. I appoint him as your spirit guide for the next ten months. May he inspire you to be a bountiful source of practical beauty.
TWINS (May 21 – June 20): To be a true Gemini, you must have a thirst for knowledge—whether it’s coral reefs, ancient maps of Sumer, sex among jellyfish, mini black holes, your friends’ secrets, or celebrity gossip. You must be a perpetual student who longs for education. Are some things more important to learn than others? Of course, but this standard is not always obvious in the present. A seemingly insignificant clue or trick you piece together today may be unexpectedly helpful a month from now. With this perspective in mind, I encourage you to be promiscuous in your thirst for new information and teachings in the weeks ahead.
CANCER (June 21 – July 22): Cancer-stricken drummer Ringo Starr is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Although he has received less acclaim than his Beatles peers, many critics recognize him as a skilled and original drummer. How did he start? At the age of 13 he contracted tuberculosis and lived in a sanatorium for two years. Medical staff encouraged him to join the hospital band, hoping it would stimulate his motor skills and relieve boredom. Ringo hit the closet next to his bed with a makeshift hammer. Good exercise! Thus his unhappiness led to his joy and success. Is there a similar story in your life, Cancerian? The coming months will be a good time to take this story to the next level.
